The Pottawatomie Partnership is comprised of twelve churches in the St. Charles/Geneva area, as well as BMO Harris Bank. The Pottawatomie steering committee is made up of representatives from these churches and meets on the third Tuesday evening of every month at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Funds for their projects are raised through donations and various fundraising efforts. Pottawatomie commits to building one Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley home per year.
Labor on their projects is performed almost entirely by volunteers from Pottawatomie member churches. Most work is completed on Saturdays, but various tasks are occasionally done during the week.
Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley has four partnerships. Partnerships are groups of churches of varying denominations united to fund and build Habitat for Humanity homes. Pottawatomie completed its first home in 1997 and has completed a total of thirteen Habitat for Humanity homes, including their most recent project on 13th Avenue in St. Charles donated by Bank of America. Pottawatomie hosted at house blessing for family partner, Cody Hall, and her two boys, ages 4 and 8, at their new home on Sunday, October 12. Cody became our 90th Habitat Homeowner on Friday, October 10, 2014.
